When Mary's first husband passed away suddenly from bone cancer, she was left with two little boys to raise by herself. Her love for her family comes through clearly in her earliest works. Eventually those designs became a collection of greeting cards called the WhimsicaLine™ from Shelterwood Publishing. When her boys grew up and developed lives of their own, Mary's attention returned to her own personal love of nature and wildlife.
